ABOUT THE ARTIST|
Born in N.Y.C.
As the child of mother who was an artist
(sculptress, Blanche Phillips) with wanderlust, we did a lot of moving.
Living in the San Francisco Bay Area for several years, then to Mexico for a
year, then to Texas for a year, then back to N.Y.C. where I attended "The High
School of Performing Arts". By this time I was 14 years old and I wanted
to become an actor. Upon graduation from high school I appeared in several
"Off Broadway" plays, a "Broadway" play (Caligula), several years of
"Summer Stock" including the Shakespeare festivals at Burlington VT., Stratford
CT., and Ashland, OR.
Moved to Hollywood , California in the early 60's
and began work in both film and television. I've appeared in two episodes
of the original "Star Trek", three episodes of "The FBI", "I Spy", "Twelve
O'Clock High", "The Invaders", "Mannix", "B.J. And The Bear", etc., etc.
Also had the lead role in the movie "Vixen", a Russ Myer film, plus roles in
several other films.
Became interested in photography in the mid sixties
and became a professional photographer by the late sixties.
Presently I work for the City of Los Angeles as a photographer for the "Dept. of
Building & Safety" although I started with the city as a crime photographer for
I have been included in several juried shows in
which I have always placed either in 1st place or 2nd place. I have had
photographs published in "Playboy", "Penthouse" and "American Hairdresser".
In 1969 I married my present wife who is also an
actress and has appeared in numerous television shows. Managed to acquire
a large built in family right away consisting of five girls, for my wife had
been married once before. My wife worked as an actress under the name of
"Jacqueline Mayo". As a coincidence we both worked on the same episode of
"The Invaders" before getting to know each other. I have two children of
my own. One son and one daughter. Perfect. My son is an editor
for television; my daughter is a photographer and lives on Staten Island, N.Y.
We presently reside in Hollywood California just
below the world famous "Hollywood" sign.
